Mobile tyre fitting and recovery in GU27 (Haslemere)

Haslemere sits high and every road into it climbs. That is not a scenic observation — it is the reason we ask, before anything else, whether your car is on a gradient, because a jack on a slope is the quickest way to turn a flat tyre into a hospital visit.

South of the town the district crosses into West Sussex at Camelsdale and Fernhurst, where the lanes are sunken between banks and the tree cover keeps the road wet long after the rain has stopped.

The A286 over the hill to Fernhurst

The A286 is the main road through, and between Haslemere and Fernhurst it climbs, bends and drops through woodland with almost no verge. It is a road where stopping in the wrong place is genuinely dangerous, and where a slow puncture is better nursed to a side turning than dealt with on the spot.

The A287 heads north out of the town, and the residential streets around Shottermill and Grayswood are narrow with steep drives. Kingsley Green and Lynchmere are lanes rather than roads — single track, unlit, and easier to find by pin than by name.

Questions we get asked about GU27

My car is on a steep drive in Shottermill.
Tell us before we set off. We chock wheels and use level ground wherever we can, but on a steep drive we will normally ask you to roll the car down onto the road first. That is a two-minute job for you and a much safer one for us.
Can you find a house on a lane at Lynchmere?
With a pin, easily. Without one it can take a while, because the lanes there are unsigned and the map names do not always match what is on the gate. Send a location from your phone and we will come straight to you.
Are you slower to Haslemere than to Guildford?
Yes, noticeably. We are based in Cobham, so Haslemere is a longer run down the A3 and then across. We still cover it, and we will tell you a realistic time when you call rather than one that sounds better on the phone.

Tyre help around Haslemere

Call with the road, the gradient and a pin if you are on a lane. Those three things decide how the job goes here more than the tyre does.
