M25 Junction 9 sits in the middle of this district, and it changes the character of everything around it. Leatherhead absorbs motorway traffic all day, the A24 feeds into it from the south, and the roundabouts on the town side of the junction are heavy with lorries and vans.
Then, within a mile or two, the district turns into Oxshott and Tyrrells Wood — wooded lanes, gravel drives and long private approaches. We work both extremes in the same shift.
M25 Junction 9, the A24 and the A243
Junction 9 is the reference point. If you have stopped on the motorway itself, do not attempt anything at the wheel — stand behind the barrier and call the motorway operator first. We work on the slip roads and the roads around the junction, not on live carriageway.
Off the junction, the A24 runs south through Givons Grove, the A243 climbs north towards Oxshott, and the A245 links across to our own base. The lanes leading to Bocketts Farm and up through the woods are single-track in places with flint verges, and flints are the reason a fair share of sidewall damage in this district cannot be repaired.

- We attend the slip roads, roundabouts and roads around the junction. We do not work on the live motorway. If you are on the hard shoulder, call the motorway operator to get the vehicle moved somewhere safe, then ring us and we will meet you there.
- Can you fit on a gravel driveway in Oxshott?
- Gravel is workable but it is not ideal, because a jack can sink under load. We carry boards to spread the weight. If the drive is deep gravel or on a slope, moving the car onto the flat by the gate makes the job quicker and safer.
- I have a flint cut in the sidewall. Can it be repaired?
- No. A cut through the sidewall cannot be legally or safely repaired, whatever its size, because that part of the tyre flexes constantly. Only damage inside the central tread zone can be plugged and patched. We will show you the damage before we condemn a tyre.
